Mr. Lunger was one of the most influential professors I ever had the privilege of getting to know. He was a thoughtful and compassionate man. He strongly believed in our success, and he continued to send notes of encouragement long after the class had come and gone. He will be deeply missed. The world is a darker place without someone with his knowledge and wisdom who was so incredibly willing to share it.

I had the distinct pleasure to work along side of and learn from Bill while working evening Security at Warren Hills High School. I remember Bill as being a caring man who loved his various responsibilities at Hills. His knowledge our Wrestling program over the years was amazing. He was a well respected mentor of Softball officials at the school also. I remember him leaving the announcers table and running home to get his Basketball Referee uniform at the last minute one day to cover a home game that would have been cancelled at the last minute due a lack of officials.
Bill was one of a kind!

My deepest sympathy and sincere Condolences to family and friends.
I had the pleasure of knowing Bill for over 40 years from a softball umpire, high school football broadcaster in Morris County, announcing Warren Hills Basketball and Wrestling. I had some great conversations with Bill about area high school sports from back in the day especially the old DRC. Bill was a Sports Historian along with a great heart and soul. Bill is in our Lord's Loving Strong Safe Hands now for eternity
. RIP Bill you will be missed Brother

Mr. Lunger was my Speech professor my first semester at WCCC in 2003. I went in dreading the class and he made me enjoy it. He used to talk about his love of history and Gettysburg. Little did I know, but I also knew his mom from when my mom and I were customers of hers at Fashion Bug in the Hillcrest Mall in Phillipsburg. Mr. Lunger was one of my all time favorite college professors and he will be deeply missed.

I've known Bill for almost 20 years, loved working his softball tournaments over the years and discussing rules & situations! He was very knowledgeable and enjoyed educating anyone interested - umpire, coach, player, parent, fan. He will be missed tremendously. Condolences to his family and friends, of which there are many!

Deepest condolences to Bill's family. He will be deeply missed by all. I had the pleasure of being a neighbor to Bill for a few years as well as caregiver to his cocker spaniels while he announced and referred many sporting events. The world lost one of the many great caring people that still exist in the world.

He attended most of our games, Spectators were sparse then, but he was there encouraging the team!
Always a kind and generous person.
