Obituary of Palmer App Jr.
Palmer “Mike” App Jr, 71, of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday September 12, 2014 at Hackettstown hospital with his family by his side.
Born October 7, 1942 in Evanston, Illinois, he was the son of the late Palmer, Sr. and Mary Pearl App.
Personal: Mike graduated from Evanston High School in Illinois class of 1960. He went on to further his education at Iowa State studying engineering. He and his wife previously lived in Liverpool, NY prior to moving to Washington 20 years ago. Mike served his community as a volunteer fireman in Liverpool, NY where he also was a Fire Investigator for Onondaga County and an adjunct professor teaching Fire Investigation. He was employed by U.S. Adjustment Corp in NY, NY, where he was Vice President in claims management. He was an avid coin collector and a Disney fan. During the 47 years he and Sharon were married they visited Disney 50 times sharing many memories there with his children and grandchildren. Mike loved his family and treasured the time spent with them. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors: his devoted wife of 47 years Sharon, beloved children, a son Michael App and his wife Michelle, a daughter Jennifer Brostek and her husband Jason, his step mother Sophia App; 5 cherished grandchildren; Mackenzie, Ryan, Samantha, Alyssa and Meghan.
Services: Family and friends may call on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 5-7:00 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave, Washington, NJ. Additional services will be held in Liverpool, NY.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Washington Emergency Squad, 100 Belvidere Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
