Obituary of Mary P Ruckman

Mary Ruckman, 91, a lifelong resident of Washington, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Lower Saucon Township, PA. Mary was born on February 18, 1928 in Port Murray, NJ to the late Romolo and Angelina Ranelli. She attended Washington High School. Mary married the love of her life, Earl Ruckman in 1959 and they celebrated 60 years on July 18. She was employed at Bates Manufacturing in Hackettstown, NJ prior to her retirement in 1993. Mary was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Washington where she and Earl were members of the couples club. She was an amazing cook, especially her homestyle Italian dishes. She enjoyed growing her own vegetables and loved watching the birds from her back porch. She was a lifelong caregiver for her family. She enjoyed traveling to see her children and grandchildren. Family and friends were everything to Mary. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Earl Ruckman; her loving sons, Mark Ruckman and his husband John Cinkala and Stephen Ruckman, and two cherished grandchildren, Isaiah and Miel Ruckman. She is preceded in death by her daughter Maria Ruckman; three brothers, Samuel, Frank and Raymond Ranelli, and two sisters, Jean Wolverton and Carolyn Ranelli. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Burial will immediately follow the Mass at St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Washington, NJ.
