Obituary of Lena M Stauffer

Lena M. Stauffer, 99, of Bethlehem, PA (formally of Washington, NJ) passed away peacefully on March 15, 2019 at Country Meadows of Bethlehem with her loving family by her side.

Lena was born on December 7, 1919 in New Village, NJ to the late Michael and Stephanie Fucci.

She married the love of her life Charles Stauffer who passed in 2000. Lena was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She was employed as a cook for Hoffman LaRoche prior to her retirement in 1984. Lena was an excellent cook, especially Italian food. She also loved to have family and friends over when she would make wonderful meals for everyone to enjoy. Lena was never afraid to try a new recipe or doctor an old one to her taste. She enjoyed traveling the world and especially loved her trips to Italy and England. She loved to read, complete crossword puzzles, play pokeno, follow the adventures of her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, and take part in activities of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts and was given an honorary award by them. Her favorite pastime was watching the Yankees play.

Lena is survived by her loving children, Shelley Fritts and her husband Stephen, Deborah Burd and her husband Guy H., Cindy Murray and her husband Ed, Doug Stauffer and his wife Bethann. Her caring brother, Michael Fucci and 8 treasured grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces who considered her to be their angel in disguise. Grandchildren names: Courtney Hoffman (Jim), Erin Amato (Tony), Casey Eck (Bob), Cory Burd (Andreena), Scott Stauffer (Lauren), Caitlyn Meixsel (Justin), Matthew Murray, and Chris Murray. Great Grandchildren names: Hailey, Ryan, Connor, Mackenzie, Cameron, Madelyn, Madison, and Taylor.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 6-9 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 24 W. Washington. Ave Washington, NJ 07882

Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 214 St. Hwy Route 31 North, Washington, NJ. Burial will immediately follow the service at Sts. Philip & James Cemetery in Greenwich Twp., NJ
