Obituary of Francis L Basile

Francis L. Basile, 86, of Belvidere, NJ passes away peacefully on July 20, 2017 at St. Luke's Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ with his family by his side.

Francis, "Bucky", was born on February 21, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Andrew and Grace Basile.

Shortly after graduating High School he proudly served his country in the United State Navy during the Korean War. Francis met and married the love of his life Rosalie who passed in 2010. He was fireman and employed as a Captain for the FDNY until his retirement in 1980. Francis was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed playing golf, going to the horse races, and watching his favorite teams, the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was an avid reader as well. Above all he loved his family and treasured every moment spent with them. He will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his loving sons, Stephen Basile and his wife Michele and Peter Basile and his wife Stefanie. 4 cherished grandchildren, Michael, Jake, Matthew and Joseph

Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 9-11 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882 Funeral service will immediately follow visitation in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ
