Obituary of Samantha K Anderson

Samantha "Sam" Anderson, 48, of Washington, NJ passed away on July 18, 2017 at home

Sam was born on March 7, 1969 in Morristown, NJ to Harold (Lefty) and Roberta Ward.

Sam spent her younger years in Bernardsville and Bridgewater, moving to Washington with her husband Michael in 1994. She graduated from Immaculata High School in 1987. She earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia in 1991. She was a homemaker, and a dedicated teacher at several preschools in the area. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Sam loved animals, especially her cats, Albert and Elizabeth, and her dog Cliffy, who passed away in 2002. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 25 years Michael, and a cherished daughter, Ava May. She is also survived by her parents Harold (Lefty) and Roberta Ward, a sister Melissa Raack and her husband Peter; brother Blair Ward and his wife Michelle. Sam was preceded in death by her brother Matthew Ward in 2016. She was also a loving aunt to Cori, Sophie, Emily, Cade, Liam, Adam, Derek, Brigitte, and Mary.

There will be a celebration of Sam's life on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 1:00pm-3:30pm at The Draught House, 286 Route 31, Washington, NJ 07882. The family requests that you wear bright colors and bring happy memories to share. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sam's name to Common Sense for Animals, PO Box 589, Broadway, NJ 08808.
