Obituary of William R Snyder

William R. Snyder Sr., 72, of Washington, NJ passed away suddenly on June 11, 2017 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan, NJ

William was born on May 26, 1945 in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late William and Edea Snyder.

Raised in Belvidere, NJ William was a graduate of Belvidere High School Class of 1963. Soon after graduation William proudly served his Country in the Vietnam War. Upon completing his active military duty, he married the love of his life Mary Lou in 1968. He and his wife moved to Washington to raise their family and have resided there for the past 50 years. William was self-employed the majority of his life. He owned and operated "Snyder Bus Service." starting in 1973 with 1 bus. He was of the Christian faith. William enjoyed going to car shows with his Dodge Viper. He was a private airplane pilot and flew a Cesna 172. He was an avid hunter. He collected knives and many antiques. He was also a firearms lover. William was active in the community and a past member of the Butler Park Fire Department.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Mary Lou, his loving children, a daughter, Tina Snyder and her companion Samuel Bocchino and a son, William R. Snyder Jr. and his companion Shannon Irons. 2 brothers, Richard Snyder and David Snyder. And 2 cherished grandchildren, Billy III and Angela. He is preceded in death by a sister Edea Miller.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday June 24, 2017 from 10:00 AM 12:00 PM at the Faith Discovery Church. 33 Brass Castle Rd. Washington, NJ 07882. A Memorial service celebrating Williams's life will be held on immediately following visitation at 12:00 PM at the church

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in William's name to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 48, 321 Marshall St, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865
