Like so many others, I am so deeply saddened to learn of Dawn's passing. I too worked with Dawn at Prudential. She was an amazing project manager who always worked so hard to get a project completed the right way... with a smile and a shared laugh.
Dawn and I shared a passion unrelated to work -- ancestry research. Knowing I was new to this "ancestry obsession," Dawn scheduled lunch with me one day. During that lunch, she shared so much of her knowledge -- everything from the best genealogy resources to her information on barbers in the 1700s! From time to time, we would share our latest ancestry discoveries. I always was excited to tell Dawn my latest finding... and she always responded with great enthusiasm and a follow-up question -- which would help me further. She'd ask, "Have you thought about this?" or "Did you check the military records database?" She was a great help... and a generous, smart, and caring person. I am so fortunate to have known her.
My husband, Rich, and I extend our heartfelt sympathies to Dawn's husband, Rod, her mother, brothers and entire family. You all remain in our thoughts and prayers.
I will end with a favorite Native American Proverb... may you find some comfort in it.
They are not gone
Who live in the hearts
They left behind.
I know Dawn lives on in the hearts of so many people.
Deepest sympathies,
Jill Brugger

Only today did I learn of Dawn's passing and I am so sad and sorry for your loss.
I worked with Dawn for many years at Pru and we shared many laughs and tears. I loved Dawn's humor and sassiness. She suffered no fools but was one of the kindest people I've ever known.
A beautiful light has gone from the world.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Rod.

Dawn and I worked on the same team for a number of years. We sat side by side for much of that time. We backed each other up when one of us was out. There was a divider between us and we'd often talk over it until we joked that one of us just needed to get up and come see the other. We had many lunches togehter. We had deep conversations and just regular run of the mill conversations. Our best talks were on late Friday afternoons when we were winding down from a long week of work. Dawn was kind, compassionate and a good friend. She'd remember things you told her and ask about them--a sign of a good listener but also a caring person. We cried together, we laughed together.....being in such close promimity, we also got annoyed together (and maybe even with each other) at times too. When you work so closely, you often share aspects of your lives with each other. There are so many, but the one stand out for me was when Dawn would talk of her road trips with Rod. She'd reflect on how they would drive for hours and be laughing the whole time. I could feel how close they were--true friends who really loved being with each other. Rod and Dawn's entire family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. One final thought was how Dawn always made a point to keep in touch after she left our department. She'd pop down for a quick hello or schedule a lunch. Dawn was much better at that than me. As I reflect on that, I will strive to follow her example going forward.

I also worked with Dawn at Prudential for a number of years. She was always interested and interesting, asking questions about my family, while sharing how much she loved Rod and their life together. I won't forget going down to medical center at Pru and being a little wary, Dawn came down, stayed and sat with me. She was that kind of person. I smile remembering lunches with co-workers, and raising a glass together. Just wanted to let you know she very well remembered and how sorry we are for your loss.

Dawn and I shared not only the same first name (of which we joked often), but we also shared a love of food. Dawn would often cook and 'sneak' me in a delightful dish to sample. After I returned her empty food container back to her time and again, I had come to see Dawn as my personal chef. Dawn's presence, humor and friendship will be missed. May her family take comfort in knowing that this woman had a heart of gold and a kindness that shall never be forgotten.
Hugs, DC
