Obituary of Jai Letterman
Jai "Sue" Letterman, 68, of Columbia, NJ passed away peacefully on December 10, 2016 at the Clover Rest Home in Columbia, NJ.
She was born on March 24, 1948 in Thailand to the late Bula and Ma Mohangwa.
Sue moved from Thailand to the United States when she was 24 years old. Slowly learning English and making a life for her family, she always wanted to help others. From simple chores around the house to tasks that were back breaking, she was up for it. Having a green thumb, Sue always wanted to make things beautiful. Flowers and gardens were her muse. Every house she lived in had a garden and she enjoyed tending to them on a regular basis. She was an excellent cook and teacher when it came to Thai food. Always teaching her children how to prepare her superb egg rolls or other Thai dishes. Her recipes were always in her mind and never written down. Everything was to taste which made it nearly impossible to duplicate. Her children were her world and she treasured spending time with them and cooking for them.
Always helping others and never wanting anything in return, she loved to make people happy. She was resilient and put her family's needs first.
Her kindness for animals was also evident as she would nurture injured animals back to health. She was of the Christian faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, 4 daughters, Meme Phimphisan, Karen Massarelli, Kathy Borsuk and Beneta Rolser and a son, Richard Letterman. She also leaves behind 10 cherished grandchildren.
Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday December 30, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882.
