Obituary of Emma M. Taylor

Emma M. Taylor, 90, A lifelong resident of the Washington area passed away peacefully on June 21, 2016 at the Lopatcong Care Center. Born on December 2, 1925 in her home in Washington, NJ to the late Emma Gesner. Emma graduated from Washington high school class of 1944. She married her soulmate Raymond Taylor after he returned from WWII in 1945. She was a homemaker but found the time to be a very charitable and giving women. Emma would go door to door throughout Montana Mountain collecting for the American Cancer Association in the 1960s and 70s. Emma and her husband Ray volunteered at Warren Hospital for more than 20 years. Emma started a neighborhood Library in the family basement, where many families and all the area children would be welcomed in. She is survived by her husband of 71 years Raymond; A daughter Holly Shoemaker and her husband Ron; Sons Paul Taylor and his wife Nancy and David Taylor. 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Emma was preceded in death by her brother Elmer Gesner Jr. Graveside serves were held privately at Montana Mountain Cemetery. Donation may be made in Emma's name to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
