Obituary of Richard L. Maguire
Richard Maguire Sr, 79 formerly of Old Bridge, NJ passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Born on June 28, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Vincent and Alice Maguire.

He worked as a conductor and brakeman on Lehigh Valley Railroad and Conrail for 42 years before retiring in 1998. His friends knew him as "Tricky Dick" In addition to working on the railroad; he owned his own painting company. He would often work a 12-hour shift and then spend his nights and weekends painting to provide for his family. He always made sure he was home on Wednesday nights to make his famous pasta and meatballs.
He was proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed his trips to Ireland over the years. This past April he took his final trip to Ireland. The memories of this trip will be cherished forever as 4 generations of Maguire's traveled throughout Ireland visiting the many places he spoke of for years. Richard also enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. His very first bike being an Indian. He owned many Harley's throughout his lifetime. Always the adventurous type, Richard took flying lessons and become a pilot when he was in his late 50's. He owned his own plane for a short period before retiring and moving to Edgewater, Florida. Richard moved back to New Jersey to be close to his family. Family was his life. He worked hard to provide for them and treasured each and every moment spent with them. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid chess player and would share strategies while teaching his grandchildren the game. He was a huge fan of John Wayne "The Duke" and the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was a kind man with a contagious smile, a man who would do anything to help others. He will be greatly missed by all.
