Obituary of Mildred E. Fournier

Mildred E. Fournier, 86, of Washington Township, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 in Warren Hospital's ICU. She was a loving and caring Christian. Born: On June 11, 1919, in Broadway, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Edith Baylor Kinney. Her step-father, Henry F. Renner, died in 1977. Personal: Her loving husband of 58 years, Roger R., died on February 9, 2001. Mildred was a 1937 graduate of Washington High school. Mildred was a telephone operator with NJ Bell Telephone, retiring in 1983. Known for her cooking and baking abilities, she had won numerous local and state Grange Awards. Mildred had a keen memory of her early childhood as well as later life experiences. She was very knowledgeable on her own and other families genealogies. Memberships: Mildred was a member of the Washington United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a 50 year member of the Washington Grange, Warren Pomona Grange, and the New Jersey State Grange; as well as the H.G. McCully chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She and her husband were former volunteers for Meals on Wheels. She also volunteered for the Washington Community Pantry. Mildred was a member of the Oxford Furnace Young at Heart Club, Franklin Seniors and had attended the Washington Nutrition Site. Survivors: She is survived by two sons, Raymond R. and his wife, Linda of Mansfield Township, Roger E. of Washington Township; three grandsons, Michael, Mark, and Christopher; seven great-grandchildren, Leslie, Cody, Shawn, Emily, Lindsey, Luke, and Lucy; two sisters, Beulah E. Apgar of Hampton, Lois Jean Blackwood of Washington; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A brother, Lloyd E. Kinney, died in 1997. Services: Will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the church, 116 E. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the church.
