Obituary of Lucille E Garibaldi

Lucille Elizabeth Garibaldi, 22 months of Washington passed away in the loving embrace of her parents on May 13, 2015 at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Born on June 20, 2013 in Flemington, NJ to Peter and Emily Garibaldi. Lucy was a happy, curious, fun-natured toddler that enjoyed every day to it's fullest. She loved watching zoo animal cams, taking care of her doll babies, and dancing to music. She had piercing blue eyes and a belly laugh that warmed the soul. She bravely met every challenge she faced during her nine month battle for a cure, and served as an inspiration to many. Lucy's family would like to thank the doctors, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and staff of the Pediatric Oncology Departments at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the care and friendship they provided to our family. In addition to her devoted parents, Lucy is survived by her maternal grandparents Allan & Sherri Goldman of Norfolk, Va; paternal grandparents Peter & Karen Garibaldi of Lebanon. Lucy is also survived by her aunts and uncles Neal & Anne Goldman of Baltimore, MD, Nicole and Andrew Garibaldi of Lebanon; two cousins Tanner and Duke Goldman; as well as great-grandparents, great-aunts and great-uncles that all loved her very much. Lucy will be missed by her beloved cat Cleo. The family will be hosting a private memorial service in the coming weeks. At the request of the family in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lucy's name to two fantastic organizations that generously helped her family during the past 9 months, HEADstrong Foundation (www.headstrong.org) and Embrace Kids Foundation (www.embracekids.org).
