Obituary of Alice Day
Alice J. Day 75, of Branchburg, NJ passed away peacefully on January 13, 2015 at Somerset Hospital with her family by her side.
Alice was born in Jersey City on May 9, 1939 to the late Vincent and Alice V. Maguire.
She was raised in Bayonne, NJ prior to moving to Manville. Alice worked at the John's Manville plant as a secretary. She also worked in the Tax Department for the Boro of Manville and later in life at Dave's Men's and Boy's Shop. Alice was a people person with a contagious smile. Often customers would stop in just to shoot the breeze with her. Alice is most known in Manville as a realtor, having her realtor / broker license for over 40 years. Alice owned and operated AD Realty on Main Street in Manville for many years, mentoring her daughters as they too entered the real estate industry. She was a faithful person often going on spiritual retreats at the Jersey shore. Alice was a member of the Marine Corps Detachment #1284. And the Tri-County Seniors. She loved to dance and was a very talented dancer. Alice was an avid reader and health food guru. She loved life, her family and especially her grandchildren whom she cherished very much. She was always there to help anyone in need and made a point of putting others before herself and touched the lives of so many. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two loving daughters, Alice Rogers and her husband Donald, Barbara Coleman and her husband Paul. Two treasured grandchildren, Dayna and Scott Rogers. Her caring brother, Richard Maguire Sr. a sister-in-law Rosalie Maguire, Her devoted fiancé Donald Hill, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her first husband Bioggio Day and a brother Vincent Maguire
Friends and Family may pay their respects on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 4-6 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882 Memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private.
