Obituary of Frank W. Bingert

Franklin W. Bingert, 78, of Washington, NJ, died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the Lopatcong Care Center. Born: On February 9, 1928 in Washington, DC, he was a son of the late Theodore and Josephine Salle Bingert. Personal: He and his wife, Alice, were married on July 18, 1954 and celebrated their 52nd anniversary together. A 52 year resident of Washington, NJ, Franklin retired from the engineering department at the former Bell Telephone Co., now Verizon in 1985 after 38 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and graduated from Bernards High School. Memberships: Franklin was a member of H.G. McCully Upstate Chapter #12, Warren Life Member Club TelCom Pioneers of America; Instructor for AARP Driver Safety Program; volunteer at Warren Hospital; Norwescap retired and senior volunteer program of Warren County; member of the Belvidere Golf Club; member of Red Ball Military Transport; National Guard #695yth Armored Field Artillery Battalion, Morristown, NJ; trustee and treasurer of the Warren County War Memorial Corp.; American Legion-Carl D. Archer Post 528 White Township, charter member Post Service Officer and County Service Officer and former Chaplain; former post commander VFW Post 6762, Washington, NJ; and past president, life member, and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Washington Rotary Club. Survivors: In addition to his wife Alice, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Marge Barto of Gillett, Pa; and nieces and nephews. Services: Will be Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, NJ. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, Washington, NJ.
