Obituary of Anthony T. DeLuca

Anthony "Tony" T. DeLuca, 82, of Washington, Warren County, entered into eternal rest on February 18, 2010 at home, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Born: in Newark, NJ on May 19, 1927, Anthony was a son of the late Joseph and Rosa Nocerino DeLuca. Personal: He was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret Ferrise DeLuca who passed away in 2005 after 56 years of wedded bliss. He had resided in Washington, NJ for the past 45 years. An Army, World War II veteran, Mr. DeLuca commenced a career with the New Jersey State Police in 1957 culminating with his retirement in 1990 as head of its Fleet Management Unit. Memberships: As a communicant of Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Washington, NJ, he had served the Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus. He was an usher and assisted at Bingo. Formerly, as a member of the Elks, he served in various capacities within the community. Survivors: Mr. DeLuca, a devoted husband, loving brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, He is survived and will be sorely missed by his brother, Ralph "Blackie," of Towaco, NJ; daughter, Rosanne V. McPartland and her husband Kevin of Hardwick, NJ; sons, Fred DeLuca and wife Kathy of Gambrills, MD, Joseph DeLuca of Hackettstown, NJ, Robert DeLuca and his wife Wilma of Escondido, CA; seven grandchildren, Erica, Alicia, Danielle, Adrienne, Megan, Jeremy, Brendan; and great- granddaughter Ava. He was predeceased by two brothers Fred and Carmen. Services: Visitation will be held at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882, on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 2 to 6 p.m. A mass of the Christian Burial will conducted at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave., Washington, NJ 07882, at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010.
