Obituary of Nicholas Torres

Nicholas Torres Sr. 81 of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 18, 2013 at Phillipsburg Care Center Born: on September 18, 1932 in NY, NY to the late Nicholas and Paquita Torres. Personal: Nicholas served proudly in the US Army during the Korean War. Nicholas was employed as a Bus driver for the New York City Transit Authority for 25 years retiring in 1998. He moved to Phillipsburg in 2010, formally of Washington, NJ and New Rochelle, NY. He loved watching baseball and was an avid NY Mets fan. Survivors: He is survived by two sons Nicholas Torres Jr. and his wife Laura of Washington, and Michael Torres of the Bronx, NY; a brother Emilo Torres of Long Island, NY and a sister Alice Santiago of Edgewater, NJ; two grandsons Nicholas and Matthew. He is also survived by a large extended family. Services: Friends and family may call on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave, Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM from St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave, Washington, NJ 07882. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
