Obituary of Lillian E Bowlby

Lillian E. Bowlby, 86, of Hampton, NJ, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in Warren Hospital. Born: On November 15, 1920 in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Grace Gysin. Personal: Lillian and her loving husband, Al, were married for 20 years. A resident of Hampton, NJ for the last 60 years, Lillian moved there from New York City. She graduated form Haron High School in New York, and worked as a union representative for Western Electric in Kearny, NJ. Later in her life, she was employed with the Washington Star and Hackettstown Gazette newspapers, retiring in 1986. Lillian was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memberships: She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Washington. Survivors: In addition to her husband Al, Lillian is survived by a daughter, Barbara of Vermont; two sons, Lawrence Volpe and Robert Breitfeller and his wife Patricia of Roseto, Pa; a step-son, Paul Bowlby of Pompton Lakes, NJ; four grandchildren, Robert, Christopher, Jennifer and Ron, and four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Alexandria and Deja. A daughter, Carol Ann, died in 1986. Services: Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the church, 40 East Church Street, Washington. Friends and family will be received at 9 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, Washington, NJ.
