Obituary of Helen H. Smith
Helen H. Smith, 93, of Washington, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 in Lopatcong Care Center, Phillipsburg, NJ.
Born: July 27, 1912 in Phillipsburg, NJ, a daughter of the late John and Lillian "Sease" Hyndshaw.
Personal: She and her husband, Theodore were married for 65 years when he passed away in 1993. Helen was a nurses' aid at Warren Hospital during World War II. She also worked as a private nurse through the years. She was a lifelong resident of Washington. During World War II she volunteered for Airplane and night observation at the Borough Park.
Memberships: She was a member of The United Methodist Church in Washington. Helen was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 136 in Washington.
Survivors: two sons, Theodore Harold and his wife, Elizabeth of Washington, Richard Edward and his wife, Diana of Bridgewater; four grandsons, Theodore, Thomas, Timothy and Edward; a granddaughter, Mary; 9 great grandchildren. Brothers, Joseph, Harry, John, Thomas, Clayton and a sister, Alice Felver, all died earlier. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington. There will be a service by the Order of the Eastern Star at 11 a.m. Funeral Services will be at 11:15 a.m., the Reverend Douglas Spencer is officiating.
