Charles E. Edmiston, 82, of Belvidere, formerly of Allentown, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, in Warren Haven Nursing Home. Born: January 30, 1923, in Blandburg, Pa., a son of the late Ernest Carl and Addie David Edmiston. Personal: He was a carpenter for local contractors in the Warren County area. Earlier in his life, he worked in the family coal mine in Pa.He had lived in Belvidere for 40 years.Charles served in the Army during World War II.He was of the Methodist faith. Memberships: He was a member of the American Legion Post 528, White Township. Survivors: His loving wife of 26 years, the former Marguerite Balkenberg; two sons, Carl of Conn. and Dr. Charles Jr. of Wisc.; a step-son, Robert Becroft of Belvidere; two step daughters, Dorothy Becroft of Mt. Pocono, Pa. and Audrey Allen of Tenn.; a brother, Jack of Maryland; a sister, Connie Fishel of Blandburg, Pa.; and many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.Two sisters, Betty and Sara, and two brothers, Claire and Larry, died earlier. Services: A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements under the direction of Warren Hills / Ford Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington.
