Obituary of George W. Reynolds

George Reynolds, 84, of Washington, NJ, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at home peacefully with his family by his side. Born: On September 2, 1922 in Jersey City, NJ, he was a son of the late William and Jessie Reynolds. Personal: He and his wife Susan were married for 59 years. George lived in Washington for the past four years, previously living in Kearny, NJ. He was employed as a machine mechanic, retiring in 1985 from Owens Corning in Kearny. Earlier in his life, he worked for Metro Glass & Bottle Co., Jersey City. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He saw action in Normandy, Belgium, and Germany. He loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed woodworking. Memberships: George was a member of St. Theodore's Catholic Church, Mansfield, NJ. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Susan, he is survived by a son, William and his wife Christine of Randolph, NJ; six daughters, Ann Chambers and her husband Thomas of Enola, Pa, Susan Rineer and her husband Larry of Lancaster, Pa, Mary Mikan and her husband Stephen of Orlando, Fl, Bernadette Ryan and her husband Andrew of Mansfield Township, NJ, Rose Lombard and her husband John, and Joyce Lopez and her husband Ruben, both of Washington, NJ; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A sister, Edna Templeton, died in 1973. Services: Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Father Anthony Sirianni officiating at the church, 855 State Highway 57, Port Murray, NJ.
