Obituary of Nelson Burmeister
Nelson Burmeister, 93, passed away peacefully at his grandson's farm in Burlington Flats, NY, on June 24, 2009.
Born: In Lowden, IA. on September 25, 19 15, he was a son of the late Ludwig and Rosa Burmeister.
Personal: He lived at his current residence for five years, he previously lived in Oxford, NJ. Nelson was a mechanic. He worked for Red Star Express line, Smith Motors in Washington. Later in his life he worked at Albin Schmitt & son. He also loved gardening. Caned chairs in his spare time.
Memberships: Nelson was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Oxford for 57 years. Nelson was a member of the Pigeon club of Oxford.
Survivors: daughter, Bernadette Tuttle and her husband Ralph of Belvidere; two sisters, Mary Rose Boechler and Elizabeth Waring both of Michigan; two granddaughters, Michelle Armbrecht and Sandi Tuttle; grandson, George Armbrecht and his fiance Cathy Maguire; A Brother-in-law Robert Keating and wife Mary Lou three great-grand children, Anthony, Amber and Paul; two great-great-grandchildren, Chloe, Aryanna. He was predeceased by his loving wife Helen, who passed in 2004, a sister Lukie Burmeister who passed earlier.
Services: Visitation will be Monday, June 29, 2009 , 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave, Washington, 07882. The funeral service will be Tuesday June 30, 2009 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial with Father Andrew Wieliczko officiating, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 85 Academy St, Oxford NJ 07863 Burial will be in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Oxford.
