Obituary of George C. Parella

Born: on October 4, 1931 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late George and Jenny Parella. Personal: George graduated from Toms River high school class of 1951. He served proudly in the US Air Force during the Korean War. George owned and operated Parella Paving of Myersville, NJ for 45 years before retiring in 1992. His loving wife of 58 years Shirley Ann Parella passed away in 2009. He was a member and past president of Lions Club of Long Hill, NJ. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. George loved watercolor painting and was a very talented artist. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and going to car shows. He loved spending time with his family and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Survivors: His loving daughters Donna Parella, Debra Parella and her companion Mark Gesko, Dori Howell and her husband Jeff and Doreen Ross and her husband Brad; a sister Lottie Schmidt and her husband Richard; Seven Grandchildren Corilee, Beau, Zachary, Jordan, Tessa, Jenna and Bradley; A great-grandson Giovanni. In addition to his wife Shirley he is predeceased by a brother Joseph Parella Services: Friends and family may call on Thursday April 17, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-8:30 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave, Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services will be celebrated immediately following visitation at 8:30 PM on Thursday. Cremation will be private.
