Obituary of Nicholas T. Livera

Nicholas T. Livera, 87, of Oxford, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Warren Hospital. Born: On November 29, 1919 in Sicily, Italy, he was a son of the late Philip and Rosa Livera. Personal: Nicholas and his wife, Angela, were married for 60 years. A 20 year resident of Oxford, NJ, he had previously lived in Stanhope and Newark, NJ. Nicholas served in the Army during World War II. He landed in Normandy for the invasion and saw action in Northern France and in the Battle of the Bulge. He served proudly until the liberation of Europe. To Nicholas, his life experience and military service were his education. He was employed as an extrusion assembler for Resisto Flex in Roseland for 23 years, retiring in 1979. His hobbies included bowling, baking, gardening and playing guitar. Memberships: Nicholas was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Washington, NJ. He was a past member of the Netcong Emergency Squad. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Angela, he is survived by two sons, Jack of Oxford and Phil of Panama City, Fla.; two daughters, Rosanne Cambouris of Andover, NJ and Angel Livera of Piscataway; four grandchildren, and four nieces. 3 great grandchildren. A brother, Sam and a sister, Grace, both died earlier. Services: Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 W. Carlton Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882, with Father Blaise Baran officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Washington, NJ.
