Obituary of Ronald R. Loucks

Ronald R. Loucks Sr. "Ronnie", age 74, of Holly Hill, FL died peacefully Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Florida Hospital Oceanside with his loving wife, Peggy, and his family by his side. He was born on September 19th, 1934 in Oxford, New York. Ronnie lived in East Stroudsburg, PA for 27 years before moving to Florida in 2004. He retired from Hoffman La Roche in 1996 where he worked as a chemical operator for 39 years. Ronnie served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 and was stationed in Germany where he drove transport vehicles, and was a heavy equipment operator. An active member of the community and church, Ronnie volunteered his services as a CPR instructor with the American Red Cross in Monroe County, PA for more than 35 years. In 1992, he was awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Monroe County chapter of the American Red Cross. Of the Presbyterian faith, he was most recently a member of United Presbyterian Church in Daytona Beach, FL. Surviving Ronnie are his wife, Peggy; son Ronald Loucks Jr. and wife Carolyn of Auburndale, FL; daughters Jamie Ryno of East Stroudsburg, PA, and Ronda Dowling and husband Dan of Atlantic Beach, FL; three sisters, Jean Loucks of Ohio, Marion Yelchik of Grants Pass, OR., and Beverly Streichert of Norwich, NY; 4 grandsons - Timothy Ronald Ryno, Samuel Jeffrey Ryno, Ian Michael Dowling, and Seth Ryan Dowling; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. We're thankful for the time we shared with this wonderful husband, father, 'Pop-Pop', and friend. He will be forever loved and sorely missed. The family will gather with friends and family for a memorial service at 2pm Saturday, April 25th with Reverend F. Irvine Angstadt officiating in the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Avenue Washington, NJ 07882. Visitation will be Saturday April 25th at 1:00 PM until the time of service in the Warren Hills Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Oxford, NJ. Memorial donations can be made in Ronnie's name to Florida Hospital Hospice, 770 W Granada Blvd, Suite 304, Ormond Beach FL 32174.
