Obituary of Robert A. Kenny

Robert A. Kenny, 79, of Port Murray, NJ, died Monday, July 3, 2006 at Lopatcong Care Center, Lopatcong Township, NJ. Born: On July 14, 1926 in Jersey City, NJ, he was a son of the late John and Anna Kenny. Personal: Robert and his wife Martha were married for 43 years. A resident of Port Murray for the past 43 years, he previously resided in Hackettstown, NJ. He was employed as a route salesman. He worked for various bakeries for the past 40 years. Earlier in his life, he worked for Ward Bakery. He retired from Hostess in 1984. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre. He enjoyed the company of the Warren County Nutrition members and the Sharing and Caring Group. Memberships: Robert was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Garden State and National Chapters of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association. He was a member of the Pohatcong Memorial VFW Post 6701, Washington, and was a past member of the Teamsters Bakery Drivers Local 194. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Martha, he is survived by four sons, Robert Jr. and his wife Patricia of Maynard, Mass., Christopher and his wife Suzanne of Hackettstown, NJ, Thomas and his wife Joyce of Stewartsville, NJ, and Timothy and his wife Beth of Easton, Pa; two daughters, Jane Skiba and her husband James of Verona, NJ, and Nancy Snyder of Belvidere, NJ; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Clementine Scheildeler, passed away in 2004. Services: Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in the church, 200 W. Carlton Avenue, Washington, NJ. Cremation will be private.
