Obituary of Mercedes Rosario Noesi

Mercedes Rosario Noesi, 75, of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic passed away on February 9, 2024 at Hunterdon Medical Center with family by her side. Mercedes was born on May 9, 1948 in Puerto Plata, Los Hidalgos, Dominican Republic to the late Ramon Rosario Noesi and Altagricio Noesi Lapaz. A letter written by Betzaida Cesneros about her loving grandmother: My grandmother was an extraordinary person. What's funny is she seemed so antisocial, yet so many people knew her and loved her. She could walk in downtown Mamay and everyone would wave her down. Mama Mecho, is what we called her. She was a proud woman, especially with the her family. She was one of 13 kids. Her parents, Ramon and Altagracia, raised them all to be selfless and caring. My mama mecho took care of them as well as many of her siblings in their last moments. Her heart was so big. She loved to music, merengue was one of her favorites. She would try to teach me but dance was not my forte. My brother, Tonatiuh, and I spent a year in DR with her. To say it was fun would be an understatement. It was long nights of Telenovelas and subs that are unmatched here. And long days of the sweetest fruit and freshest fish and the most beautiful waters. And she loved every second we were there. Mama mecho loved her grandkids Betzaida, Tonatiuh and Lucas. And spoiled us rotten. Especially Lucas, those two would bicker but team up together in a second. She would sneak him chocolates and defend him when my mom would scold him. She also loved my dad like a son. She would look at him with pride that was unimaginable. My mom, however, was my grandmother's greatest pride. Seeing my mom with the family she made mama Mecho's eyes beam. The home that her daughter, Fior Dalisa, made gave her solace on those hard days. Mama Mecho, Mercedes Rosario Noesi, will be missed by so many and we can't wait for the day we will get to meet again. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882. A service celebrating Mercedes life will be held at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial at Montana Mountain Cemetery will immediately follow.
