Obituary of Etta V. Kovacs

Etta V. Kovacs, 93, of Washington, NJ, died peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2008 at Warren Hospital. Born: On September 3, 1915 in Port Murray, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Antonina Guinta. Personal: Her loving husband of 59 years, Michael, passed away in 1993. Etta resided briefly at Warren Haven Nursing Home, but was a lifelong resident of Washington, NJ. She was a homemaker and she also worked as an assembler for American National Can in Washington, for 25 years. She retired in 1977. She loved playing the organ and the accordion. She also enjoyed cooking and canning. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Memberships: She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Washington. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and was a past member of the St. Joseph social club. Survivors: She is survived by two sons, Michael A. and his wife, Barbara, and Ronald J. and his wife, Mary Lou, both of Washington Township, NJ; two sisters, Frances Wadnik of Washington, NJ, and Jennie Snyder of Glen Burnie, Maryland; nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Michael, two sisters, Sara Nagy and Katherine Muscatell, and a brother, Anthony Guinta, all died earlier. Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday (today) from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday (today) at 11 a.m., with Father Blaise Baran officiating, at the church, 200 Carlton Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882.
