Obituary of Michael Cavitch Jr.

Michael (Mick) Cavitch Jr. August 21, 1940- December 21, 2023 It is with deep sorrow that we announce Michael Cavitch Jr. of Washington, NJ, known lovingly by his friends as Mick, peacefully passed away on December 21st with his children by his side at Phoebe Memory Care, Richlandtown, PA. He was the loving husband of 61 years to the late Charlene (Jones) Cavitch. Born on August 21, 1940 in Washington, NJ to the late Michael Sr. and Mary Cavitch. Mick attended Washington High School and worked at Oxwall Mfg.Co., Oxford, NJ. and construction before joining his father at Mike's Auto Body Shop in Washington, NJ. Mick proudly took over the family business, treating customers like family and their cars like his own. Mick cherished any time he could be with friends and his family; to lend a hand, fix anything, offer advice, share his knowledge, add a little joke, or be a quiet listener. He was always there for everyone and anyone in the most humble of ways. He retired in 2005 and continued to live his life to the fullest! He turned a lifetime of repairing cars into a new passion of refurbishing and showing classic cars with his wife and dear friends. Spending days enjoying hunting, fishing and time with his children and grandchildren, Mick was the embodiment of a life well lived. He lived his life with nothing but integrity, honesty and hard work, which along with his generosity and kind heart he continued to selflessly inspire his entire family, and others. Mick was predeceased by his sister Barbara Rivel of Andover, MA and is survived by sister Kay Maddock of Tucson, AZ and also his four children: Shawn Cavitch (Kathy), Michael lll Cavitch (Stephanie), Michelle Whitman (Rich), and Kelli Cosgrave (Chris), 11 grandchildren, and one, new great grandson. At the request of the family, all services will be held privately.
