Obituary of Edmund A. Gardiner
Edmund Allen Domingo Gardiner, 83, of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.
Edmund Allen Gardiner was born on February 3, 1940 in Bronx, NY to the late Edmund Allen Domingo Gardiner and Leone Bascombe Gardiner.
Edmund was a clothing buyer for Loehmann's Department store for many years. He then was employed by the New York City Police department as a school safety officer prior to his retirement. Edmund was very involved at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Where he served as an usher, altar server and became a member of the men's society. Edmund enjoyed music, dancing, as well as photography. Edmund was an avid reader, he also ranked the highest belt in Martial Arts. Edmund enjoyed watching sports, his favorite teams were the New York Jets and the New York Mets. Above all he loved his family. He will be greatly missed.
Edmund is survived by his loving children; Stephanie Gardiner-Parker, Erik Gardiner, Lissette Gardiner-Burley and her husband Lawrence, Ebony Gardiner-Elie and her husband James, Nephews Reginald Gardiner, Toure Gardiner, Niece Denise Gardiner, 12 Grandchildren, 8 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. As well as his one surviving sister Pamela Gardiner. As well as a host of God Children. In addition to his parents Edmund Allen Domingo Gardiner and Leone Bascombe he is preceded in death by his siblings, Eugene Alexander, Geraldine, Ann (Thandi) and Anthony John Gardiner.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 12-4 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Celebration of Life Repass is at Washington Fire Department Hall, 100 Belvedere Ave. Washington NJ 07882. Funeral service celebrating Edmund's life will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will take place at Rosedale, Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, NJ at a later date and time.
