Obituary of Donald Lee Oakes

Donald Lee Oakes, 68, of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023 at the Hunterdon Care Center. Don was born on November 28, 1954 in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Donald and Yvonne "Maginnis" Oakes. He graduated from Warren County Technical High School in 1973. He was employed as an auto body repair man for Mike's Auto Body for many years before his retirement in 2017. Don enjoyed music, dancing, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler in the woods behind his home. Don is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline; 2 daughters Tara DeRemer and her husband Jerald and Heidi Oakes-Reisinger and her husband Shawn; stepchildren Melissa Cerrato, Thomas Herder, and Leah Kuehn; sisters Susan Boslet and Alice Heinrich and 9 grandchildren. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday September 9, 2023 from 2-3:30 PM at the warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882.
