Obituary of John E Handlos Jr

John E. Handlos Jr, 68 of Washington NJ passed away suddenly at his home on Friday April 14th, 2023. He was born in Kingston, PA, July 31st 1954. John was the son of the late John E and Jane Keener Handlos Sr. John graduated from Warren Hills Regional High School in 1973. After graduation he started at Mobil Chemical and rose to Section Leader by the time the plant closed in 1994. Later he worked at Advance Auto in Washington, NJ. He was President of the Washington Historical Society in Washington. John was an avid Yankees fan, loved history and old cars. For most of his life John was a bowler and most recently he was in the Thursday night league. John met the love of his life while working at Mobile Chemical, he and Patricia (Taylor) were married for 36 years after dating for 9 years Surviving in addition to his wife are his sister Debra Handlos DeVoe, a niece Maggie (Dan) Shaw, nephews, George "Richie" (Kelsey) Miller, Harry (Ashley) Miller, great nieces Ellie and Scarlett, great nephews Matthew, Bear, and George. John's wishes were to have a graveside service only. Services will be on Tuesday April 18th 2023 at 10:30am at the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton NJ.
