Obituary of Vera Zagaro

Vera Zagaro, 87, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on February 25, 2023 with loved ones by her side. Vera was born on December 15, 1935 in Union City, NJ to the late Charles Schrillo and Mary Capozzi. She was raised by her maternal grandparents; Frank and Bridget Capozzi. She was a successful entrepreneur, owning many businesses throughout the years. Vera owned a beauty shop, a clothing boutique, a laundromat, and a knitting store, all in Union City, NJ. She loved animals and also bred dogs at one point. Vera enjoyed fashion but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family. Vera is survived by her loving children; MaryAnn and Mark Mastorelli, and grandchildren; Robert, Steven, and Nicole. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Lawrence Mastorelli and her grandson, Drew Mastorelli. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A memorial service celebrating Vera's life will begin at 5:30 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to an animal shelter of your choice in Vera's name.
