Obituary of Mary Meyer

Mary Meyer, 87, of Belvidere, NJ and previously of Jersey City, NJ passed away on October 6, 2022 at St. Luke's Warren Hospital. Mary was born on June 10, 1935 in New York, NY to the late Michael and Mary Stanko. She worked for Lutheran Social Services as a cook for 20 years until her retirement. Mary was extremely active in the senior community, where she helped out with the Country View Village bingo and the Warren County Senior Nutrition Program exercises. She enjoyed making custom birthday cakes for her children, painting crafts with extraordinary objects, and routinely sending cards to family and friends. Mary is survived by her children, Cynthia Cotte Griffiths and her husband Charles, and George Cotte and his wife Linda; her step- children, Lisa, Debra, Maryann, and Christine Meyer; grandchildren, Chad and Calder Griffiths, Lindsay Smith and her husband Roger, Allison Cotte, and Caroline Cotte; and great- grandchildren, Roger and Aubrey Smith. She also leaves behind her longtime companion, Donald Walsh. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband William Meyer, who passed in 1999, and her siblings; Michael, John, James, and Vincent Stanko and Anne Bonevento. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Belvidere, NJ. Burial will immediately follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Belvidere, NJ.
