Obituary of Waltraud S Smorzaniuk

Waltraud S. "Trudy" Smorzaniuk, 88, of Oxford, NJ passed away peacefully on Hospice care on August 26, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Trudy was born in Wachsenberg, Germany on September 18, 1933 to the late Anton and Frieda "Emmert" Pfitzinger. She was educated in Germany where she earned her business degree. Trudy immigrated to the United States in 1955 and married her childhood sweetheart Adam Smorzaniuk. They lived in Union, NJ before moving to Oxford in 1979. Trudy was employed as a travel agent for Lloyd Exchange Travel in Union, NJ for many years. Later in life she became a Real estate Agent/Broker for Centennial Real Estate in Hackettstown. Her loving husband Adam of 50 years passed away in 2006. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran church in Washington where she was very active with the church. Trudy also volunteered her time with Family Promise of Warren County and was a member of the Hope 55 Club. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling and gardening. Trudy also loved and was loved by her many dogs over the years in Oxford. Special mention should go to Jojo and Beau, who have surely welcomed her to the other side, and Coco and Trapper, who mourn her loss Trudy is survived by a daughter, Eva M. Smorzaniuk and her husband Philip E.L. Dietz Jr.; a daughter In-Law, Catherine McGarvey; a sister Inge Virnstein and a grandson Andrew Logan Smorzaniuk; In addition to her husband, Trudy was preceded in death by her son, Thomas A. Smorzaniuk, and a sister Ilse Pfitzinger. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday September 1, 2022 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. A funeral service celebrating Trudy's life will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Pequest Union cemetery in Liberty Township.
