Obituary of Larry R Adams

Larry R. Adams, 77, a lifelong resident of Franklin Township passed away suddenly on April 14, 2022 at St. Luke's Warren Hospital. Larry was born on October 28, 1944 in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Morris W. and Myrtle Blanchard Adams. Larry graduated from Washington High School class of 1963. Larry married his soulmate Patricia Melligan Adams in 1967. Earlier in his life, he was employed as a machinist for Warren Controls for 9 years. He was then a member of the Warren County chapter of the Carpenters Union, Local 399 for 20 years. Thereafter, he was a Machinist/Millwright at Hoffman-LaRoche in Belvidere, NJ, for 13 years, until his retirement in 2002. Larry was known as a selfless man who enjoyed giving back to his community. He was an active member of the Broadway United Methodist Church where he was past church trustee president and head of the Administration Board for the church. Larry was a founding member and past Chief of the Broadway Fire Department. He was a founding member and past Captain of the Broadway Rescue Squad. Larry was a past Mayor and Committeemen for Franklin Township. He also served as a Special Police Officer and Dispatcher for the Washington Borough Police Department. In addition to his loving wife Patricia of 55 years, Larry is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Hodge; a son, Jason Adams and his wife Carly, his step-granddaughter Sonja, and step-great-granddaughters Anamaria and Azel, a brother, Ronald Adams and his wife Teresa, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Harvey S., Morris 'Sonny' Jr. Richard A., and Clifford. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday April 20, 2022 from 5-7 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service celebrating Larry's life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Broadway United Methodist Church. 2233 State Route 57 West. Broadway, NJ 08808. Interment will follow at Montana Mountain Cemetery in Harmony. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the church at PO Box 284, Broadway, NJ 08808.
