Obituary of Gloria A Smith
Gloria A. Smith, 82, formerly of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on January 1, 2022, at St. Luke's Warren Hospital.
Born in Shenandoah, PA, on April 3, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Violet "Zitkus" Piercosky.
Gloria was a 1956 graduate of J.W. Copper High School in Shenandoah and a 1958 graduate of Easton Hospital School of X-ray Technology. Although she worked in Easton and Jersey City, she spent most of her career at Warren Hospital where she made many lifelong friends. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Washington, NJ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her cats. She was a woman's league bowler at Oakwood Lanes for many years and prized her numerous trophies. Bowling gave way to Bingo and bus trips to Atlantic City where she always had a knack for winning.
Even as Gloria faced health challenges, she still enjoyed watching football on the weekends, both college and professional and Jeopardy every evening. She was always elated to know the answer to final Jeopardy when the contestants didn't.
Gloria is survived by a daughter, Jocelyn Mosher and her husband Scott; a son, Channing Smith and his wife Lara and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jay R. Smith in 1992 and a sister Betty DeStefano.
