Obituary of Alessandra Harpster
Alessandra Carmelita Landaeta Harpster, 15, of Washington, N.J., died Friday, August 6, 2004, in her home. Born: May 17, 1989 in Hackettstown, N.J., she was a daughter of Thomas and Adrienne Landaeta Harpster.
Personal: She was a lifelong resident of Washington. She would have been a sophomore at Warren Hills Senior High School. She did a great deal of volunteer work. She was full of life. She liked to cook and enjoyed the beach and traveling. She loved animals and music.
Memberships: She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Washington, where she was a recipient of the Sierra Award and also served as a member of the church's Altar Society. She was a member of the high school debate team, swim team, volleyball team, and the concert and jazz band in which she played clarinet and saxophone. She was also a member of the United Warren Soccer League and a member of the Merrill Creek Girl Scout Troop #137.
Survivors: In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Danica; her maternal grandparents, Cesar and Dorothy Landaeta, of Belvidere; her paternal grandfather, Richard E. Harpster, of Washington; a bird named Max; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church, 200 West Carlton Ave., Washington, N.J. The Reverend Robert Ascolese will officiate. Call from 12 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, N.J. Cremation is being handled by H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, Pa.
