Obituary of Leon R Dean

Leon R. Dean, 59, passed away suddenly on November 12, 2021 at his home in Belvidere, NJ. Leon was born on August 8, 1962 in Dover, NJ to the late William and Jessie "Levens" Dean. He grew up in Roxbury, NJ and graduated from Roxbury High School class of 1980. He was previously from Washington, NJ before moving to Belvidere. Leon was employed as a truck driver and worked in the family business for Dean Trucking. Leon was a big teddy bear who loved his family and would help anyone in need. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Leon is survived by a son, Leon W. Dean; his loving partner in life, Awanda Gonzalez; sisters. Janet Dean and Sheela Carei; brothers, Matthew Dean, Victor Dean and David Dean; three stepchildren, Melissa Maxwell, Kayla Gonzalez, and Ramon Morse; two nieces he had a part in raising, Jessie Gerard and Roxann Dean; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents Leon was preceded in death by a sister Alice Best and a brother William Dean. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday November 18, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-8:30 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service celebrating Leon's life will be held on Thursday at 8:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately.
