Obituary of Susan M Jones

Susan M. Jones, 61, of Port Murray, NJ passed away peacefully on October 25, 2021 at Newton Memorial Hospital. Susan was born on March 29, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Jerome and Ethel "Kirby" Jones. She grew up in Mountain Top, PA. She graduated from Crestwood High School class of 1978. She earned a Bachelor's Degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude, from East Stroudsburg University, and earned her Master's degree from Wilkes University. Susan was employed as a Senior Systems Analyst for Craft-Nabisco Co in East Hanover, NJ until her retirement in 2011. Susan was a parishioner of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Port Murray. She enjoyed watching the Home and Garden channel and watching soccer games. She especially loved spending time with her family and her cats. Susan is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Howard Sargent; daughters, Danielle Hanisak and her husband Dakota, and Kaitlyn Sargent; sisters, Eileen Schmid, and her husband Dave, Barbara Slavick and her husband Emil, and Cathy Bottone and her husband Dave; cousin Carol Orphanides and her husband Jim; nephews and nieces, David, Kristen, Shannon, Ryan, and Zach. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday November 1, 2021 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 AM at St. Theodore Catholic Church. 855 State Hwy Route 57. Port Murray, NJ 07865. Interment will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Susan's name to the St. Theodore Catholic Church.
