Obituary of Amelia Courtright

Amelia Courtright, 102, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2021, at the Chelsea at Brookfield Assisted Living Center. Amelia was born on May 31, 1919, to the late Floyd and Ada Reimel. She married the love of her life John Courtright in 1944. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage until his passing on November 17, 2012. Amelia was employed as a seamstress until her retirement in 1984. She was of parishioner of the Broadway Methodist Church in Broadway, NJ. Amelia enjoyed cross stitching, crossword puzzles, and sewing, making most of her daughter's clothes. She walked daily throughout her life and treasured her twice yearly visits to High Point, NJ, where she walked from the parking lot to the monument at age 101. Above all she loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them. Amelia is survived by her loving daughter, JoAnn DiGilio and her husband Rudolph, her caring sister Loretta Hammerstone, and her 3 treasured grandchildren, Paul, Christopher, and Maria and her husband Justin Warburton. She is survived by her great grandchildren Zya, Skylar, and Amelia Mae. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Clayton and Paul and her sisters Eleanor and Ruby. In abiding with Amelia's wishes, all services will be private. Amelia's family acknowledges the care and devotion given to her by everyone at Chelsea during the last 11 years. The commitment by everyone has been outstanding. We also acknowledge Enoble Care for the extended care given in this last year.
