Obituary of Josephine N Ciszkowski

Josephine Norma Ciszkowski, 95, of Washington, NJ passed away on September 23, 2021 at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon, NJ. Josephine died of severe burns form cooking at home, she put up a brave and very courageous battle through days of intense suffering. Josephine was born on March 19, 1926 in Jessup, PA to the late Bruno and Alice "Monachelli" Santinelli. Where her father was a coal miner. She graduated from Westside High School class of 1946. In 1950 she married Frank Ciszkowski. In 1957 they moved to Washington, NJ to raise their family. Sadly Frank passed away in 1980. Josephine worked for the Warren County Pharmacy and Muller's Newspaper Store. She was also employed by Clothes Scene in Washington earlier in her life. Josephine was a devout catholic and It comforts the family in knowing she was born on Saint Joseph's Day and she passed away on The Feast day of St Padre Pio. She was a 64 year member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Washington where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the St. Joseph Social Club. Josephine was an extremely friendly and outgoing person making friends everywhere she went. She was often known for her fancy outfits and her many pocketbooks. Josephine is survived by her daughter, Diane Keggan and her husband Alan; her son, Frank Ciszkowski and his wife Carol; Grandchildren, Jennifer Keggan her fiancé David Kercher, Shaun Keggan and his wife Emily, Dr. Alison Stout and her husband Stephen, Frank Ciszkowski and Matthew Ciszkowski: great granddaughter Raelyn Keggan. In addition to her husband Frank, Josephine was preceded in death by a brother, Dante Santinelli. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday October 2, 2021 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Church. 200 Carlton Ave. Washington, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Parish cemetery.
