Obituary of Maria Simpson

Maria “Mary Simpson, 61, passed away suddenly at her home in Washington, NJ on November 1, 2020. Mary was born in Debica, Poland on December 18, 1958 to the late Edward and Janina “Rogulska” Hajder. After moving from the Bronx, NY earlier in her youth, Mary lived in Washington most of her life. She graduated from Warren Hills High School class of 1976. After high school graduation she moved to San Diego, California where she married and gave birth to her daughter, Catrina. She returned to Washington, New Jersey in 1986 and attended Warren County Community College and Centenary University for an English and Early Childhood Education degree. Mary enjoyed helping people, especially children, and worked as Nurse’s Aide and a Teacher’s Aide for Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, NJ. She enjoyed writing poetry and reading. She loved nature and enjoyed hiking and going to the beach. She was an excellent swimmer. Mary was a kind, loving and gentle spirit who will be missed forever by the people that love her. Mary is survived by a daughter, Catrina Simpson; Sisters, Krystyna Hajder and Liz Jermyn; a brother, Eric George Hajder, her nephews, Skyler and Brandan Jermyn and her nieces, Angel Dubiel and Lilyana Spangler A private graveside burial will take place at Montana Mountain cemetery in Harmony, NJ.
