Obituary of Joyce F. Cooper
Joyce Florence Cooper, 82, of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Joyce was born on August 11, 1938 in Carteret, N.J. to the late Alfred and Florence Woodhull. She is survived by her adoring and devoted husband of 63 years, Walter "Bill" Cooper of Washington. Together they raised two children and were fortunate to make lasting memories with their extensive travel across the United States.
Joyce was employed nearly 20 years as the office manager for Terry Yetter, CPA prior to her retirement in 1997. She was a member of the Washington Methodist Church and a past member of the Washington Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Along with being recognized with 50 years of service by The Eastern Star, she was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Joyce enjoyed scrapbooking, reading and traveling with her husband. She was the family historian and never missed remembering a birthday or anniversary. Joyce cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her loving children; daughter, Sandy (David) Hill of Emmaus, PA and son, Walt (Cheryl) Cooper of Tampa, FL. Beloved grandchildren Robert, Charles, Kimberlee, Catherine, Benjamin, Haylee and Christine, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Alfred Woodhull. The family wishes to thank the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for their in-home and heartfelt care of Joyce throughout the duration of her illness.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 10 AM – 12 PM followed by a memorial service at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Interment service will be held at Summerfield Cemetery, White Township.
