Obituary of Aldona Cornish

Aldona "Gypsy" Cornish, 73 of Washington, NJ passed away suddenly on August 5, 2020 at her home. Gypsy was born on May 13, 1947 in Wirzburg, Germany to the late Jurgis and Maria Buozis. Her family immigrated from Germany to the United States in 1956. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1965. Gypsy moved to Washington in 1970. She owned and operated R Place bar and the Kountry Kitchen in Washington, NJ. Earlier in her life she was also employed by Heath Village in Hackettstown, BASF and Woodcraft in Washington. Gypsy enjoyed shopping and crocheting. The quilt blankets that she made over the years have now become treasured keepsakes for her family. Gypsy also enjoyed hosting get-togethers with family and friends. She adored her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gypsy will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Cornish and Michelle Cornish; her son, Wade Cornish; Sisters, Judy Desio, Dana Cusati and Niola Cusati; a brother, George Buozis; 5 grandchildren, Ashley O'Rourke, Saige Witner, James Cornish, Paige Steele, Codey O'Rourke and 6 great grandchildren; Ayden, Brien, Anthony, Lilly, Harper, and Sora. Gypsy was preceded in death by her fiancé Joseph Magyar. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday August 16, 2020 from 1-3 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Memorial Service celebrating Gypsy's life will be held at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
