Obituary of Peter F Byron
Peter F. Byron, 65, of Washington Township, NJ passed away peacefully on July 13, 2020 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ.
Peter was born on August 14, 1954 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Peter H. Byron and Antoinette "Casino" Byron.
Peter grew up in Elizabeth, NJ graduating from Roselle Catholic High School class of 1972. He was an accomplished track athlete, which earned him a track scholarship at the University of Massachusetts. He went on to earn a degree in Business Management from the University. While in school, Peter met the love of his life Leslie "Dunham" in 1976 and they were married in 1979. He then returned to New Jersey where he obtained his electrical license and worked alongside his father at Spencer Electric. He ran the business until 2010. He was then employed as a General Superintendent for EDF Renewable Energy. Peter volunteered his time for 13 years coaching youth basketball for both of his sons. He was passionate about cooking and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He recently found a love in trying and collecting various fine wines. Peter was an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed Deer and Turkey hunting. Peter was very handy and could fix anything. One of Peter's special memories was celebrating his 40th wedding anniversary in Italy. Peter was a loving husband and father, a respected colleague, and will be missed by many. In addition to his loving wife Leslie, Peter is survived by his sons, Peter C. Byron and his wife Michelle; Kevin Byron and his fiancée Christen; His mother Ann Byron; a sister, Barbara Salmon and her husband David; Brothers, Greg Byron and Robert Byron. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in Peter's name to Washington Twp. Youth Association (Warren County) or a charity of one's choice.
