Obituary of Charles Patrick O'Hea

Charles "Pat" O'Hea, 78, of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2020. He was born in Newton, NJ on March 23, 1942 to the late Charles H. O'Hea and Grace Stafford O'Hea. On September 4, 1965, Pat married the love of his life, Kathryn Garland O'Hea. Pat was graduated from Washington High School class of 1960. He was employed by New Jersey Bell, AT&T, and retired from Lucent Technologies in 2000. Pat was an avid golfer and member of Harker's Hollow Golf Club from 1968 to 2009. Pat had seven holes-in-one, including one ace on every par 3 at Harker's Hollow, where his name proudly adorns champion boards throughout the clubhouse. Pat will be remembered for his terrific sense of humor, vast reservoir of jokes and generous camaraderie. Pat is survived by his loving wife and best friend Kathy, two sisters Katherine (Kent) Bergmann of Belvidere and Maureen (Jack) Lafferty of Morris Plains, sister-in-Law Lynn O'Hea of Phillipsburg, two brothers-in-law Thomas (Teresa) Garland of Oxford and Ed Garland of Port Colden. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Timothy O'Hea, brother-in-law John Garland, sister-in-law Bonny Garland, and nephews Tommy Garland and Eric Garland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pat's name to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave, Newton, NJ 07860. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
