Obituary of Blessed Ann Cannata

Blessed Ann Cannata, 82, of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on January 31, 2020 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 6, 1937, to the late Bernabe and Florence Delgado. Blessed earned her Bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College. A lifelong educator, she taught elementary school for over twenty-five years in the Mount Olive School District. In 1989, she was the 'overwhelming choice of her peers' for the teacher of the year award. She was a patient and supportive teacher with a passion for learning and the arts. An avid photographer, behind the camera lens she could find and capture the natural beauty of the world around her. After retirement, she volunteered her time at the Hunterdon Art Museum in Clinton where she enjoyed the work and the friends she made. She was a loving and caring person, devoted mother, Nana and friend, always thinking of others first. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Vincent Delgado, Bruce Cannata, Lois Schmidt and her husband Bob, and Paula Larson and her husband Jim. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Nick, Billy, and Bobby Schmidt, Dillon, Sheila and Benny Larson. She was preceded in death by her brother Bernard Delgado. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 12-2 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Avenue in Washington, NJ. Memorial service will be celebrated immediately following at 2:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Blessed's name to the Hunterdon Art Museum, 7 Lower Center Street in Clinton, NJ.
