Gertrude E. Hummer A lifelong resident of Hampton, Gertrude E. Hummer passed away peacefully on February 16, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Irvington, NJ on October 7, 1929 to the late Richard A. and Elsie K. (nee Donaldson) Schultz. Gertrude attended Hampton High School and enjoyed attending the annual reunions. She was a housekeeper and caregiver serving many families including two generations with distinction, forming special bonds with the families she served. Gertrude was a member of the Holland Township Seniors group and attended programs weekly. She enjoyed camping and spending time taking various trips and cruises. Gertrude was a frequent patron of the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gertrude is survived by her children Helen Schuler and her husband John of Agawam, MA., David Hummer and wife Lois Nyland of Washington, Patricia Hummer-Schnorrbusch of Hampton and Beverly Stoskus and husband Robert of Washington. Grandchildren John Schuler Jr. and wife Lisa of Feedinghills, MA, Raymond Schuler and wife Pam of Feedinghills, MA, Kristen Hummer-Smith & husband Kyle of Glen Gardner, Matthew Hummer & wife Wendy of Villa Rica, GA, Jennifer Stoskus of Hoboken, Krystine Stoskus of Washington; 6 Great Grandchildren; a brother George Schultz of Hampton and her faithful grand-dogs Parker and Owen. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Clifford in 1994, a brother Richard Schultz Jr. and a sister Hazel Craig. Viewing will be Friday, February 21, 2014, 9:30 am to 11:30 am followed by an 11:30 am Celebration of Life Service at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ (908) 689-0119. Burial will be conducted at the Bloomsbury Cemetery, Greenwich Township.
