Obituary of Samuel T Uhler
Samuel T. Uhler, 86, of Asbury, NJ passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2019 with his caring wife Joan by his side.
Sam was born on February 28, 1933 in Lower Mount Bethel, PA to the late Russell and Thelma (Lane) Uhler.
Sam graduated from Bangor High School Class of 1951. He earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology, and obtained his Professional Engineering License in the State of New Jersey. He married his soulmate Joan (Musco) Uhler in 1957, and in 1958 passed the test for his private pilot's license. Sam was employed as a Civil Engineer with Trap Rock Industries in Kingston, NJ for 30 years before his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed flying, skiing, and working in his yard and garden. Sam was a founding member of the Franklin Township Youth Association.
In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, Sam is survived by his three children: Russell Uhler and his wife Nadine, Keith Uhler and his wife Angela and Jill Starr and her husband Brian. He is also survived by six loving grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by brothers Verne and John Uhler, sister Linda Abbott, and stepfather Howard Slack.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday April 27, 2019 from 9:30-11:30 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forks United Church of Christ cemetery.
